Master Class: Exceptional Wines Off the Beaten Path @ Eleven Winery | Bainbridge Island | Washington | United States

Join Tanya Morning Star Darling CWE, FWS, Linda Bohannon FWS and Eric Strout (winemaker at Eleven Winery) for an exploration of the impact of terroir and winemaking style using four grapes: Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Mourvèdre. Discussion of the historical/traditional home of grapes (old world) and underlying factors in each grape’s migration within the old world and ultimately, to a new home (and sometimes more appropriate) home in new world. Some of these expatriates have a forgotten past and some faced climate or political problems in their origin/traditional home. Focus will be sensory comparison, and exploration of these grapes in their appellations of origins, and Washington (Eleven) vineyards.
