Redshift @ Eleven Winery
Jul 27 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Redshift @ Eleven Winery | Bainbridge Island | Washington | United States

Redshift first took shape way back in 2011 as the BBC Jazz trio, formed by Kurt Bischoff, Dave Bristow and Neil Conaty for a one-off performance at a local fundraiser. The name derived from their initials and Dave’s accent. Far from being a one off, the trio stuck together enjoying regular rehearsals and gradually built a reputation locally as a fairly serious musical group. This prompted the need for a real name, and after an evening round the fire with a bottle of Tequila, it was decided that “Redshift”, the elongation of light waves into the red spectrum due to the recession of the distant stars somehow reflected the diminishing chances of stardom for the band.

Playing with guest musicians was always part of the band’s culture and one of those guests, Kurt Festinger on tenor sax, became a regular member of Redshift early in 2017, solidifying the band’s musical professionalism. At the end of 2017, Kurt Bischoff was able to resume his interest in travel and exploration and played less regularly with the band, who now work with a rotation of drummers, popular on the Seattle and Kitsap jazz scene – Dylan Savage, Robert Rushing, Don Deiterich and Tom Svornitch.

The Cuban Heels @ Eleven Winery
Aug 3 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
The Cuban Heels @ Eleven Winery | Bainbridge Island | Washington | United States

The Cuban Heels play well-known, (and sometimes, not so well known), covers plus their own quirky and engaging originals. There’s always something interesting going on with the Heels. The magnetic Shannon Dowling drives the show with her compelling singing (in three languages), and superb flute playing. Guitarist and principal songwriter Alan Simcoe is well regarded on the Peninsula, Bainbridge, and Seattle areas for his prowess in Jazz, Latin American and Brazilian idioms. Steve Newton has to be one of the funkiest, grooviest bass players in the PNW. Bill Riach is a master of drum grooves and beats from all over North, Central and South America

Check out the always fabulous & fun, The Cuban Heels! If you love music from Latin America and Brazil this band should not be missed.

Winery open 12-5pm. Live music 1-4pm.

Champagne Sunday @ Eleven Winery
Aug 25 @ 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Champagne Sunday @ Eleven Winery | Bainbridge Island | Washington | United States

Endearingly labeled as “Pearl Jam meets Bette Midler”, Champagne Sunday began in Ventura, CA, in 2005 migrating up to the Pacific Northwest in recent years. Husband and wife members Jessi and Jared Fredeen have been tearing up stages and crowds nationwide with their unique upbeat, roller coaster style shows, firing off gypsy-punk rock songs alongside everything from intimate tear-jerkers to anthemic foot-stompers. Described by Leanne Rimes as “the best band I’ve seen that’s not yet famous”, this act has a ton of energy, heart, and talent that makes for an engaging, powerful show.

Winery open 12-5pm. Live music 1-4pm.
