The Kathleen Sutton Fund strives to help women fighting cancer by helping defer transportation costs in Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap & Mason counties. These costs include all ferry fees, parking, tolls, and any other transit expense.

Endearingly labeled as “Pearl Jam meets Bette Midler”, Champagne Sunday began in Ventura, CA, in 2005 migrating up to the Pacific Northwest in recent years. Husband and wife members Jessi and Jared Fredeen have been tearing up stages and crowds nationwide with their unique upbeat, roller coaster style shows, firing off gypsy-punk rock songs alongside everything from intimate tear-jerkers to anthemic foot-stompers. Described by Leanne Rimes as “the best band I’ve seen that’s not yet famous”, this act has a ton of energy, heart, and talent that makes for an engaging, powerful show.

Deseo Carmin is a fiery fusion of latin, jazz/rock with spicy flamenco. Original music as well as sultry arrangements on favorite Latin, Brazilian and Spanish songs.

DESEO CARMIN plays a sultry fusion of Latin/Flamenco/Funk music -“Spanish music with an edge”. The band has been mostly performing in the Seattle area for the past 10 years and their music has already transcended borders as far as Latin America where they currently receive radio play at radio stations in Paraguay and Chile. Throughout the years they have performed at several well-known venues and events such as World Rhythm and Folklife Festivals. Their music has been featured in local radio stations as well as NBC’s King 5, Seattle Channel and KCTS Channel 9’s “Arts Zone”.

They were selected as one of the featured performing artists in the Seattle.gov website and their music featured in “Seattle on Hold”. They are proud to have been nominated for a music award in 2011 at the New Music Seminar Artists on the Verge (AOV) project which takes place in Los Angeles, CA. “AOV” identifies the 100 artists most ready to break each year and it’s a great achievement for DESEO CARMIN to have been nominated to this exclusive list from millions of artists throughout the US.

Larry Murante beautifully weaves stories about everyday folks which combine compassionate, socially conscious lyrics and an upbeat, joyful, energetic folk/rock style.

Jackson Brown, Lyle Lovett, Hal Ketchum, and Michael McDonald are all reflected in his music. Larry is known for his soaring, mellifluous, tenor, a strong rhythmic guitar style, and an engaging stage presence. With his third CD release, Point Of Entry, Murante has racked up a fresh string of accolades, the most notable being the Grand Prize Winner in the folk category of the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Eduardo Mendonça, a native of Brazil throughout his travels in the US, Canada, Nepal and Brazil, the talented musician, composer, arranger, and musical director has explored the many and varied genres of Brazilian popular music, entertaining such notable personalities as the 14th Dalai Lama, Pope John Paul II, and former South Africa President Nelson Mandela.  Mendonça appeared in the PBS “American Masters” documentary: “Paul Simon: Born at the Right Time” which aired in 1993.

In May 2016, Eduardo performed as guest artist with the jointly sponsored Seattle Symphony-Carnegie Hall project “Link Up: The Orchestra Moves,” exploring the creative process of this passionate composer through melody and motif. Eduardo offers a unique and pleasurable musical experience and his performances never fail to enlighten and entertain multi-generational audiences about music theory, history, and investigation. As Paul de Barros of The Seattle Times observes, “Seattle is lucky to have Mendonça in the neighborhood”.

On Sunday, we will be donating 100% of our tasting fees (that’s right:100%), and 10% of all bottle purchases to the nonprofit, Fix Democracy First . This event will be held at the Winery location only, which is open 12pm-5pm.

Fix Democracy First is a non-profit in the state of Washington fighting to improve our Democratic processes. They have been running initiatives and projects in support of public financing of campaigns, fair elections, overturning Citizen’s United, protecting voting rights and other similar efforts for almost two decades.

The non-profit has recently merged with WAmend and continues to work very closely with their allies, partners, and volunteers towards their common goal of getting money out of politics.

Sarah O’Dea studied classical voice for 4 years and grew up playing guitar, trumpet, and piano. She began writing songs at the age of 15 and is shaped by many genres of influence (folk, soul, rock) which she carries over in her own Americana writing. She writes heartfelt, creative songs inspired by personal experience and whatever comes to mind.

Recorded and produced at Malamute Studios in Seattle, WA, she has released two EP’s, “Under Painted Skies” in 2015 and “Brink of Love” in 2016 (they are listed online under Sarah Brunner).

Join Tanya Morning Star Darling CWE, FWS, Linda Bohannon FWS and Eric Strout (winemaker at Eleven Winery) for an exploration of the impact of terroir and winemaking style using four grapes: Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Mourvèdre. Discussion of the historical/traditional home of grapes (old world) and underlying factors in each grape’s migration within the old world and ultimately, to a new home (and sometimes more appropriate) home in new world. Some of these expatriates have a forgotten past and some faced climate or political problems in their origin/traditional home. Focus will be sensory comparison, and exploration of these grapes in their appellations of origins, and Washington (Eleven) vineyards.

Two days of wine and charcuterie pairings at five Bainbridge Island wineries. Harvest is a busy time of year in the wineries and is also the time of year when all the winemaking action really happens. Some of the wineries will still have grapes fermenting and other harvest activities going on. This Wine on the Rock event is unlike others where you can get a chance to meet with the winemakers, who will be at their wineries pouring or making wine.

Event will take place at each winery from 12-5pm Saturday & Sunday. Ticket purchase is good for both days (one visit at each winery) and includes:

– Special event wine glass

– Wine tasting at each of the wineries – 20 different wines total

– Charcuterie to complement the wine tasting

– 4 bottle wine tote

Participants must be 21 and older to buy. Please drink responsibly.

Note: The Amelia Wynn winery location will not be open for this event. Instead, their downtown, Winslow Way tasting room, will be the stop to taste their wine. The other three downtown, Winslow Way tasting rooms, Eleven, Eagle Harbor and Fletcher Bay will be open for tasting, but will not have Wine on the Rock event activities and charcuterie. Please visit the Eleven, Eagle Harbor and Fletcher Bay winery locations for the Wine on the Rock stop.

Perennial Vintners and Bainbridge Vineyards are the two Bainbridge Island wineries NOT participating in this event.
